Hey everyone! As Corpus Malicious Kickstarter is approaching, we wanted to give some example encounters about how our monsters can be used which were published within our 50 pages free demo booklet. In this blog, you can find two encounters connected to each other. I hope you can enjoy these two monsters, minions of far realm, Mind Consumer and Tlaxtil.
TASTE OF KNOWLEDGE
DM's Narrative
”The party approaches to the house of the old wizard. Although they were told that the wizard is a funny man and his house is generally loud, filled with the voices of his summoning, this evening proved to be more silent.”
A DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check reveals that the door is open and there are books lying on the ground.
Once the party entered the house, they can find books spread everywhere. Knowing the wizard is a conjurer, a DC 10 Intelligence (Investigation) check states that conjuration books are either missing or some of their pages are torn apart.
When the party enters the study room of the wizard, they will see him lying on the ground, his skin turned pale and his intelligence sparks left his eyes. More brutally, there are 4 Mind Consumers upon him, feeding themselves with the wizard’s sweet knowledge in a state of ecstasy.

EVOLUTIONARY MASTER
DM's Narrative
”After proper tracking of the mind consumers by following their slimy body liquids and drained villagers, the party reaches a cave whose inside is covered with poisonous fungus.”
This is a cave whose inside is illuminated with the fungus. These fungus poison via digestion or breath. So, if they are eaten or burnt, players, who ate them or stayed 10 ft. within them when burnt, must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or they become poisoned for 1 minute.
This fungus layer covers the whole inner wall of the cave. There can be seen some corpses of various spellcasters on the ground, sucked out of their magical energies. Because of the fungus and these corpses, the ground is hard terrain. Also, the corpses are bloated and filled with fungus. When they are touched, the same poisonous gas fills a 5 ft. radius area.
DM's Narrative
”At the end of the cave, the tunnel leads to a semi-spherical room. With the clean bookshelves and well protected books on them, this is a proper library.”
The library has been built by a Tlaxtil and filled with books related to mindflayers, their anatomy and breeding, ways of contacting them, their religions and other things.
Tlaxtil does not like uninvited guests and acts highly offensive against them. So, after a quickly initiated combat with the tlaxtil, the party will find notes about the tlaxtil’s desire to evaluate into a mindflayer and his highly valuable research on this topic.
