This cult bearing the name of their mother Freja has been formed to carry Freja’s will and they carry the honor to be the oldest cult in Svilland. The cult can be seen in every place of Svilland, and the leader of each temple is a woman.
The most strict rule of the organization is that every gothi (priest or priestess) must be a virgin. Their mother Freja lost her virginity during the wars between Aesir and Vanir so that she can save Vanirs’ lives. Cult members respect this legend at most and they also offer their own virginities as a ritual in their temples if needed. This ritualistic method was used to stop wars or bringing an end to famine before. Those members offering their virginities leave the temple in peace and abundance while those losing it for mere pleasures are banished from the temples.
Although there are temples dedicated to Freja anywhere in Svilland, the cult is not the most crowded one. Some of the temples only have just one or two gothis. Gothis of the temples are known as “The Givers” among the folk, like their mother.
Goals
Basically, cult aims to help the folks of Svilland. This very basic intent, however, branches out to many and secretive other purposes. The cult works very hard to keep the peace in Svilland stable. They do not hesitate to sacrifice themselves for this cause just as their mother did in the wars between Aesir and Vanir. This is because cult thinks that peace in Svilland will bring tranquillity to their pain bearing mother and again Svilland.
The cult is very well aware that their powers are originated from Vanir. They use those powers by the granted permission of Odin. They know that their powers are restricted, however, and they do not search for more power. They use their Vanir powers to fertilize the land and families.
Relations
Cult gets along with almost every other cult or organization. In some regions, they are protected by local rulers directly. On the other hand, especially Loki based cults and organizations despise them. Loki’s worshippers try to hinder their advancements at every point they can.
Other than that, Odin worshipping cult Rune Keepers also do not approve Temple of Freja. Although the reason behind this attitude is known, because of Vanir origins.
