The Norse Pantheon

If you’re interested in Norse Mythology and the Norse Pantheon, Svilland is the right setting for you! Here, almost everything revolves around the Norse Gods and Goddesses. The Aesir, led by Odin the Allfather, is made up of nine Major Deities and four Lesser Deities, upon whom the daily lives and the beliefs of Svillanders rely. Whether you’re part of an organization that monitors justice on Tyr’s behalf, or a Runewalker utilizing Odin’s mighty symbols to cast spells, faith and thus the deities are in every aspect of a Svillander’s daily life.

The Vanir is the secondary pantheon in Norse Mythology, and not much is known about them as they’ve lost a great battle against the Aesir before Svilland came to be, and as history is written by the victors. Though these deities themselves are no longer seen in Svilland, their presence is felt through the spirits from whom the Seidrs (the druids of Svilland) draw their powers. Of course, the power of the Vanir is also still felt through Freyja, the Merciful Mother, who was born a Vanir, and who left her home and joined the Asgardians to ensure peace between the Aesir and her own kin.
